Misaaya makes kurtis in natural fabrics for women who want ethnic wear that is comfortable enough to live in and considered enough to celebrate in. Every piece is designed in-house and stitched by artisans in India, from fabric chosen for how it behaves in an Indian summer rather than for how cheaply it can be woven.
The catalogue divides into three edits. The festive edit gathers hand-embroidered chikankari on pure mul cotton, Anarkali silhouettes and mirror-work georgette — what you reach for at a wedding function or a puja. Everyday cotton kurtis are the mulmul, cambric and linen-blend straight and A-line cuts that survive a full working day. And the printed edit is printed by hand — Rajasthani dabu indigo and Andhra Kalamkari, where no two lengths come out quite alike.
